| Broken Age is a Wonderful Game That is a Great Example of Everything Wrong With a Genre | FRONTBURNR

FRONTBURNR: Point-and-click adventures are some of the first games that introduced me to interactive storytelling. I remember spending many nights sitting in my basement, watching my mom play the Kings Quest series. As I grew up, I took on the challenge of some of the games as well as series like Space Quest, Full Throttle, Monkey Island and more. It was one of my favorite types of games until the whole genre dried up in the early 2000s. Recently, weve seen a resurgence in point-and-click adventure games. Some have shown some modernization, like The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us, while others try to hold onto the formula that made the genre great. Unfortunately, they are all still moderately lacking. DoubleFines Broken Age is a prime example of this.

| Review: The Raven - Episode 1 | Fate of the Game
Added: 31.01.2014 12:18 | 12 views | 0 comments
One could think of The Raven as The Wolf Among Us without the misogyny and beat-'em-up scenes. In contrast to Telltale's popular games, The Raven values color over darkness and intrigue over shock value. The game's characters, though often archetypical, reflect meaningful cultural distinctions. The Raven's handling of European elements feels authentic and multidimensional, a far cry from the nasty Georgia of The Walking Dead and the nasty New York of The Wolf Among Us.

| Debut Trailer: Sherlock Holmes: Crimes Punishments
Added: 31.01.2014 11:16 | 3 views | 0 comments
Is more Sherlock Holmes a good thing? Do we want to portray him in as a video game character? Well even if you didnt, you can now do so in Sherlock Holmes: Crimes Punishments. The game is being created by Focus Home Interactive and seems to be an adventure game where you will be navigating a crime scene, looking for clues and beating up bad guys with cinematic quick time event cut scenes. Saying that out loud you would instantly think of The Walking Dead by Telltale. We cant say much about the game only that it is scheduled to come out on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox360. No word on XboxOne yet but we have seen Microsoft hold off to the last-minute before announcing a copy for their new console to. Take Diablo 3 for example. We all know its coming, just say it already.
So what did you make of the Debut Trailer for Sherlock Holmes: Crimes Punishments? Will you be investigating the title when it releases this year? Or will this be one mystery better left unsolve...
